RSC Block Party @Old School on 19th July 2008

The Environmental Challenge Organisation (Singapore), also known as ECO Singapore, together with a few other young environmental enthusiasts from Halide Pictures and Rockstar Collective, are currently co-organising an event that is to be held on the 19th July 2008, a local talent filled rock concert to raise awareness on how to live a more environmentally sustainable lifestyle.

This being a free entry for all, they plan to use music and the arts to raise awareness for environmental issues, covering animal rights, oceanic reef and global disaster issues as a result of environmental problems, by means of starting a trend and building up a habit of being eco-conscious.

The focus will be on education and solutions as to how to do our part to help save the planet.  By first bringing up awareness in a fun and engaging way, through music and arts to start a youth movement initiative amongst the youth between the ages of 16-35, where they can relate to and find an identity which will empower themselves to take action to walk the talk, through all these little steps.

Local bands and artists will be performing for free in hopes of exhibiting their participation of leading by means of example, and local artists will be gracing the event to publicly make pledges on living an eco-friendly lifestyle. Show casing environmental exhibits, activities and volunteer opportunities to come in the near future.

Mecha Klik @Blu Jaz ft Clash The Disko Kids

Mecha Klik was an event project where the entire event was documented with cameras capturing the light doodles from the guests. Photographers were invited to capture the event and guests were informed to bring their own light source. Guests were also provided with lightstick on that day. DJs had to provide music, while the audience danced along with the light movements. These light movements were captured down, and the photos were compiled into a short film animation and the end result is a colorful myriad of light. Check out some of the photos below!
