One Man Party – Listen To The Bass

Soulwax‘ drummer Steve Slingeneyer is taking some time now to work on his solo project One Man Party. Named by James Murphy, the project responsible for Mixhell‘sDance Or Die remix featured on the duo’s first mixed album now claims to be focusing more on original productions. Here’s a demo of his new tune Listen To The Bass and the recent Jargerland Mix.

What can you say? He lives in Ghent, he is the drummer in SOULWAX and dj’s and travels the world making people happy. Having already Dj’d with the likes of 2manydj’s, Justice, MixHell, Busy P, Vitallic,…

Now he’s just gone and done a remix with his friend RKID (for Dead Pixels) called WORDS ARE POISON. He did one for MixHell too (it’s called D.O.D, not out yet). He did one for this Australian fellow called The E.L.F. (STTEVIENICKSHEART MIX) and he does original material: CREEP-PART 1 and 2. There is more in the works…

You can expect a Dj set that “Sounds like KEITH MOON and ANIMAL from The Muppets double teaming DIANA ROSS on top of a mixer while HENRY ROLLINS watches!”

ONE MAN PARTY does not shy away from playing different styles of music. He’s a fan of disco too. Hmmm… This may be a good time to mention that JAMES MURPHY of a little band called LCD SOUNDSYSTEM gave him the name ONE MAN PARTY after watching him go berserk by himself on an empty dance floor! This has happened on many, many, many occasions…
